New Video Shows How Bella Health Systems RFID Bolus Technology Works at Cal Poly

The video shows how the bolus identification is assigned to each cow, and where and how the readers are placed and used in the Cal Poly installation. With milk prices where they are, you need to be able to keep your herd as health as you can. Closer monitoring of your herd’s temperatures will help you and your vet get a handle on illness and disease faster, cheaper, and keep your herd producing at maximum capacity. Well, the World Ag Expo is over, and Team Bella is headed back home to Colorado. The past week in Tulare, California has been exciting, hard work, but having the chance to meet with all of you has been a wonderful experience. We have talked ourselves hoarse, showed you our RFID systems for herd management, taken some orders, and found some good prospects…all in all, an excellent week. Bella Health Systems a Smash at World Ag Expo!

Too busy to post much this week, as the World Ag Expo got under way in Tulare, California. The team was busy getting everything set up in booth 7100 at the Dairy Technology Pavilion before the opening, and we have been inundated with crowds ever since.

Monday evening and Tuesday morning brought a flurry of media coverage to the company, and interest in our RFID rumen bolus temperature and identification systems has been high, to say the least.

News will be out soon from Cal Poly on their study, and they will be reporting on the use of the automatic temperature monitoring system for dairy cattle they had installed from Bella Health Systems last Fall.

More from Tulare as next week unfolds, and we get a bit of rest.

Progressive Dairyman mentions Bella Health Systems

Managing editor Walter Cooley has mentioned Bella Health Systems in the February ’09 issue of Progressive Dairyman, and their RFID rumen bolus technology, unveiled at the ’08 World Ag Expo in the Dairy Technology Building. It is his opinion that RFID technology has “potential for wide-scale on-farm implementation”.

Colorado Farm Show in Greeley a SUCCESS

Bella Health Systems had a great exhibit at the Colorado Farm Show up in Greeley, Colorado the past three days. They showed and talked about their RFID temperature and identification systems available for dairy cattle operations with dairy farmers in the region, and their products were well recieved. Several dairies in the area are already using the systems, and more are on board to implement them soon

Recently, a version was installed at Cal Poly in California, and the data being collected has been instrumental in several projects they are running for dairy cattle. University of Kentucky will have a similar system installed sometime in March.
